Happy National Rural Health Day!

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) would like to wish all our rural partners a Happy National Rural Health Day! Texas is a geographically vast state with more than 160 rural hospitals and more than 300 rural health clinics. HHSC thanks its rural partners for all their work and contribution to address the unique healthcare needs of rural Texas. “Across the state, rural healthcare providers deliver comprehensive and lifesaving healthcare services to their communities and make a significant economic impact to their local economies, as well,” said Trey Wood, HHSC Chief Financial Officer. “On National Rural Health Day, we want to recognize all rural healthcare providers and their staff and say thank you for your commitment to healthcare of Texans and for your continuing commitment to ensure rural Texans have access to medical care and health information.”

National Rural Health Day (NRHD) is an annual day of recognition that occurs on the third Thursday of November. HHSC will join partners to celebrate the 12th Annual National Rural Health Day on Thursday, November 17, 2022. The NRHD theme for 2022 is, “Driving Change and Going the Extra Mile.” Additional information and resources about NRHD can be found at PowerofRural.org.
